Wellness at the Centre of Everyday Life

Fitness plays a major role at Glasswater Locks. Alongside a dedicated studio for yoga and Pilates, residents benefit from a Hyrox-style gym equipped with weights, machines and specialist training facilities. Millie describes it as “a proper high-performance gym” noting that it rivals many standalone fitness clubs and places well-being right on residents’ doorsteps.

Bright Apartments with Canal Views

The first apartment explored is a two-bedroom home overlooking the canal. Natural light floods the open-plan living area through large windows, and integrated Bosch appliances, contemporary finishes and generous storage create the polished, functional interior. Millie immediately notices “how premium it feels” admiring the open-plan design and natural flow between the kitchen, dining and living areas.

One of the apartment’s standout features is its private terrace, offering views across Birmingham while providing a quiet place to unwind above the city. It perfectly captures the development’s vision to feel connected to the city yet having the privacy when needed.

Stylish bathrooms feature walk-in showers, quality finishes and modern fittings, highlighting comfort and practicality found throughout the homes.

Design with Personality

A second apartment introduces a bolder design scheme by 13 Interior Design. Statement wallpaper, layered textures and darker accents give the home a distinctive character while maintaining an elegant feel. Millie particularly admires the interiors, saying “they feel so expensive” while highlighting the details that elevate the space.

A Duplex Inspired by Birmingham

The tour concludes with a memorable duplex apartment designed by Abode Interiors. Featuring a rare mezzanine level and a playful theme celebrating both Birmingham and Ozzy Osbourne, the home stands apart for its creativity and attention to detail. Looking across the open-plan living space from the mezzanine bedroom, Millie describes it as “the apartment I can most see myself living in” drawn to its individuality.
