Priced at £675,000, the home offers more than 3000 sq ft of space, two potential principal suites, generous open-plan living areas and an unusually large plot. As Millie notes during the tour, “this is a six bedroom property that comes with two master suites, huge open plan areas and like I said, an incredible plot.”

A Traditional Exterior with Modern Efficiency

From the outside, the house has the proportions and appearance of a substantial country home, with a classic red brick façade that gives it a traditional character. The property also incorporates solar panels, adding a modern energy-efficient element to the exterior. Millie highlights the contrast, describing it as “very classic” while noting that “it’s also very modern inside” creating a home that combines a familiar architectural style with contemporary features.

An Exceptional Driveway and Garden

Much of the appeal of this property comes from the size of the plot. A large block-paved driveway leads to a detached double garage, providing extensive parking and plenty of space for entertaining guests.

The garden is equally striking, with a broad lawn and generous patio offering what Millie describes as a “blank canvas” for future use. She imagines a seating area, hot tub or fire pit, and the size also leaves plenty of room for children to use the lawn.

Open-Plan Family Living

The main open-plan kitchen, dining and seating area measures approximately six metres by five metres, a room size suited to accommodate a 6-bedroom home as well as for entertaining. Full-height doors open towards the garden, while separate zones allow cooking, dining and relaxing to happen within the same space. “I think it’s going to be a central hub and where you spend a lot of your time” Millie says about the kitchen island, which becomes one of the main focal points of the room.

A Sage Green Kitchen with Premium Details

The kitchen combines light gray cabinetry with sage green units, a palette Millie describes as having a “Cotswolds-esque” quality that works with the rural setting. Quartz worktops, a brass sink, integrated Bosch appliances and a large island add a contemporary finish, while the island also houses the induction hob and an integrated socket.

Storage is a major feature, with deep drawers, integrated bins, a full-height fridge and freezer, a wine cooler and extensive cabinetry throughout.

Space for Dining and Entertaining

The open-plan layout includes a dedicated dining area positioned beside the garden-facing doors. The six-person table provides a more formal setting for family meals and occasions, while the doors offer a direct connection to the garden during warmer months. Millie says she could imagine “a Christmas dinner here at this table” highlighting how the room can move easily between everyday use and larger gatherings.

A Separate Family Lounge

Off the kitchen is a large family lounge measuring more than 6.5 metres in length. The room offers space for multiple seating areas, dual-aspect views and direct access outside, while provision for a fireplace could introduce another focal point. Millie describes it as “the perfect spot to cosy up and get away from the main open plan spaces” giving the house a second setting for relaxing away from the busier kitchen and dining area.

Practical Spaces for Everyday Life

The ground floor also includes a utility room, downstairs WC and private study. The utility room provides additional cabinetry, worktop space and provisions for a washing machine and dryer, along with direct access outside. This makes it particularly practical for a home surrounded by countryside, with Millie pointing out that it is an easy place to return after local walks and “take off your wellies.” The study adds a dedicated workspace, another feature she describes as “a bit of a luxury” in a family home.

Four Spacious Bedrooms Upstairs

The first floor contains four bedrooms, with the tour highlighting the generous proportions throughout. Millie notes that there are “definitely no box rooms in this house” with the bedrooms offering flexibility for children, teenagers, guests or home working. The floor also includes a family bathroom with a bath and large walk-in shower, finished with full tiling and a premium specification.

Two Principal Suite Options

One of the home's standout features is the choice of two principal suites. The first includes a spacious bedroom, private entrance area, dressing space and ensuite with a large walk-in shower. The second suite, located on the top floor, offers an even more expansive layout with a generous dressing area, extensive storage and a large ensuite featuring a freestanding bath and “an absolutely huge walk-in shower.” Millie admits, “I might prefer it just slightly compared to the last one we saw” making the two suites one of the home's most distinctive features.

A Flexible Top-Floor Space

Alongside the second principal suite, the top floor includes another room that could be adapted to suit different lifestyles. Millie suggests possibilities including a cinema room, gym or music room, describing it as a quiet space away from the main family areas downstairs. With its potential for blackout blinds, a projector and flexible seating, it could become a dedicated entertainment space, while the larger bedroom suite nearby adds another layer of flexibility to the upper floor.

A New Build Designed for Family Living

With six bedrooms, multiple reception areas, extensive storage, two principal suites and a large outdoor plot, this new build in the East Midlands property puts space at the center of its appeal. Its traditional red brick exterior sits alongside solar panels and contemporary interiors, while the open-plan kitchen, separate family lounge, utility room, study and flexible upper-floor spaces give the house a layout designed around both family life and entertaining.
