Presented by Hannah, this four bedroom home in Bury, around 30 minutes from Manchester, is introduced as “the kind of welcome that you want after a grey day,” she says, noting its light, fresh, and airy feel. Priced at £725,000, the house sits within a small, exclusive development by a local family run developer, creating an impression of quality and design.

First Impressions

Number two, Bentley Gardens, known as The Entwistle, offers an approach with driveway parking, a detached garage, and EV charging. Stepping inside, Hannah is struck by the double height entrance hall and the space it creates. “For a new build, that’s pretty good, isn’t it,” she remarks, highlighting the bespoke turning staircase with chic glass that brings a subtle art deco note to the architecture.

Light, Flow, and Comfort

The ground floor unfolds with underfloor heating beneath herringbone style oak flooring, providing visual warmth and comfort. Sightlines extend straight through to the garden via black framed Crittall style doors, promoting openness. “It’s cold outside, you don’t have to worry about that in here,” Hannah notes, underscoring how design and practicality work hand in hand.

The Social Heart of Daily Life

An open plan living, dining, and kitchen space anchors everyday living. The Stuart Frazer kitchen is described as “a very social room,” with an island positioned so the cook can still converse with family and friends. Integrated appliances, generous storage, and a wine cooler add to the sense of luxury, while Hannah observes that it “still feels lived in,” steering clear of the clinical feel of some modern kitchens.

Practical Spaces

Beyond the kitchen, a dedicated utility room keeps household chores out of sight, emphasizing the developer’s intention to balance luxury with function. “The developer was very keen to create a luxurious space, but practical and functional as well,” Hannah explains, framing the house clearly as a family home designed for real routines rather than show alone.

Dining, Garden, and Landscape

The dining area encourages everyday connection, removing the formality of a rarely used separate room. Large bifold doors open onto a generous patio and lawn, ideal for alfresco dining, while mature trees provide privacy and a secluded feel. Hannah notes the atmosphere created by the lighting and setting, adding that “you’re not overlooked at all, just lovely trees and countryside literally on your doorstep.”

Layered Living Spaces

Two distinct living areas offer flexibility, from a snug media space with warm tones, raw materials, and a feature fire, to a more formal sitting room described by Hannah with a smile as “hello, elegance.” Thoughtful details such as mirrors, alcoves, and hidden LED lighting enhance light and proportion, creating rooms that are indulgent and comfortable.

Bedrooms Designed to Grow

Upstairs, four bedrooms cater to different stages of family life, from playful children’s rooms to more mature spaces for teenagers. A shared family bathroom leans into glamour with gold fittings and textured tiles, which Hannah describes as “a little bit sexy.” Even the secondary principal suite is styled with a hotel like feel, complete with fitted wardrobes and meticulous lighting.

A Sustainable Principal Suite

The main principal suite offers a secluded retreat with the home, with generous proportions, a full width headboard, and a dressing area leading to an ensuite. Hannah notes the developer’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting triple glazing, solar panels, and the use of local suppliers. “I feel very relaxed in here,” she says, neatly capturing the balance of comfort, efficiency, and understated luxury that defines the home.
